What is water hardness?

Water hardness indicates how many hardness-forming agents, i.e. calcium and magnesium, are in the water.

We have a very interesting article about this in our support section.

How is water hardness measured?

There are various ways to do this, for example with a titration test. You can get a suitable titration set in our shop . The appropriate instructions/explanation can be found directly in our support area .

We also have a great video on this topic:

What units of measurement are there?

  1. German degrees of hardness (°D)
  2. French degrees of hardness (°f)
  3. English degrees of hardness (°E)
  4. Milli-Equivalent/l - Millival
  5. ppm CaCO3
  6. mmol/l CaCO3

What do I do if I have hard water?

Water softening can reduce the water hardness in the entire household. By installing a water softening system , the water hardness is reduced to a desired level. A residual hardness of 3 - 6 ° dH is usually set.

In our shop you will find the right water softening system for all applications.
We are also happy to advise you by phone or email.
